There are 2 levels of World Class Mattresses
If you have been shopping for a Simmons mattress you probably have been shocked to find there are many names for the exact same mattress. So why go by the name if there is a short cut you can learn. Don’t go by a name, go by the number of coils.
The first level and second level have the different numbers and types of coils. The first level may be identified by the number of super pocketed coils, which is 1,000 in the queen size. Everything is measured and promoted in queen size in the mattress business. The second level has an addition one-thousand 1.5” micro coils (again in queen size coil density) that are designed to give you a better fit with your mattress.
These micro coils are also used in some Beautyrest Black models, so they are an important distinction when it comes to indentifying your mattress when you make a comparison.
All World Class mattresses feature the Trutemp gel memory foam. This is the most advanced gel memory foam sold in the market as it prevents heat build up. Heat reflection is what gave memory foam a bad name when it first appeared on the scene in the early 1990’s. The newer gel-memory foams don’t allow heat to build up like the earlier products. The coil structures of the World Class are the same with the exception of the micro coils in the top level.

Since you know that there is an additional 1,000 coils in thesecond and highest level of the World Class it is beneficial to know these coils are separated by a comfort bridge made from energy foam. Energy foam extends the life of the mattress and keeps the coils for bunching together and locking up. The name we use for this second level is the Simmons Trident but there are many more names in the market such as the East Hampton, Tree Top, Branchport, Wading River, and Callaway. In fact there are so many names for each mattress we have researchers on staff that compare the specifications so they can be reported to you the consumer.
Many names don’t stop with the Trident. The first level has so many names it is difficult to keep up. The name we have been assigned is the Annapolis Place but you will find it as the Contender, the Shakespeare, Kimi, Port Huron, Kentwood, Mojave Park, and many more names. In fact, at last count there were over 41 recorded names for the first level of the Simmons World Class mattress.
When shopping for this level of mattress be sure to ask your salesperson the number of coils and level of firmness before you attempt to cross-reference this mattress. If in doubt call my office at 888-557-0977. If it is the first level there will be 1,000 coil density in the queen size and if there are 2,000 it is the higher level. Both mattresses will have trutemp gel included.
